2009 Jack Williams Ski Race for Wednesday's Child

Laurie Lacer is the 2009 Dave Thomas Award Winner

Laurie Lacer, the manager at a thriving Wendy's location on 2nd street in Manchester, NH, is this year's recipient of the Dave Thomas Memorial Award at the 25th annual JW Ski Race for Wednesday's Child. Her store was the top seller of one dollar coupons to benefit Wednesday's Child. The six week campaign raised $285,000 among the 120 Wendy's stories in NH and Massachusetts. Each coupon book had 10-dollars in coupons for Junior Frosties and a five dollar coupon to be used at Waterville Valley Ski Area.

Laurie's story is all the more compelling because she was widowed a few months ago, leaving her to support and care for her five children.

The Dave Thomas award is named after the founder of Wendy's, who was a major supporter of Jack Williams Wednesday's Child program. Dave and Jack were both honored at the same time by President Bill Clinton at the White House in 1998.
