Wendy's 2013 Kickoff Rally For Wednesday's Child A Huge Success!

One hundred twenty five managers and owners of Wendy’s met in Westford and the annual kickoff meeting for the Jack Williams Wednesday’s Child promotion.  For a one dollar donation to Wednesday’s Child, customers get a coupon book with four Junior Frosty’s and four orders of fries.  The money goes to support special needs adoption and will run this year from February 2 nd to the end of March.

Speaking at the rally was a recently adopted Wednesday’s Child - Ashley.  She and her mother Liz described the miracle that brought them together to form a great family.  Liz had cancer when she was younger and can’t have biological children.  She said it turned out to be a blessing because she was able to adopt an older girl - a match that has been perfect for both of them.

Also speaking was one of the original Wednesday’s Children - Al Spittler, who along with his brother Ray appeared in the first month of Wednesday’s Child in October of 1981.  Al told of spending years in foster care before being reunited with his younger brother and appearing on Wednesday’s Child.  The two were adopted.  Al later graduated from Framingham State, where he was student body president.  He now works for Wendy’s. Ray has retired from the U.S. military, where he served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
