Yankee Magazine Agrees to Support Wednesday's Child in 2009

Jamie Trowbridge, President, J. D. Hale, Publisher, Marissa Dana, Marketing Director, and Heather Atwell, Communications Manager for Yankee Magazine, joined Marci and Jack Williams to celebrate another year of support for Wednesday's Child, Yankee will give the charity a full page ad in the January-February issue of the magazine and a second ad in March to thank Wednesday's Child financial supporters. Said Jack: "Yankee has played a significant part in helping us raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in the annual Volvo raffle." The raffle will start in January with raffle tickets going for $100 dollars each. Again, a new fully equipped 2009 Volvo XC-90 worth $45,000 will be raffled off at the 25th annual Jack Williams Ski Race for Wednesday's Child, March 14th at Waterville Valley, NH. Yankee has a paid subscription of 350,000 and is read by an estimated 2.4-million people each month. Publisher J. D. Drew added: "We are committed to helping Wednesday's Child." The economic downturn has placed more and more pressure on agencies and group homes that help special needs children find adoptive families. The Endowment for Wednesday's Child has given $2-million since 2000. Each year, $250,000 is given to needy organizations helping these children. The Jack Williams Endowment for Wednesday's Child is a 501 (C)(3) IRS recognized charity that has no employees and is run out of the Williams' home. Neither Marci nor Jack take any salary, but contribute thousands each year.
