Letters & Follow-up |
Erin called 9/29/03 at 3:15 PM and said he was a former Wednesday's Child, who appeared on the program in 1986, when he was at the Walker School in Needham. His grandparents were at that taping. He was taken from his parents along with his three siblings because of abuse (sexual) and neglect. Erin had been dropped on his head on cement when he was three months old and suffered brain damage. He suffered from anti social behavior, fighting he said his parents drank a lot. His grandparents went to meetings and hearings and got him into a special needs summer camp in New England while there, they convinced Walker School to let him in. He was adopted in 1986. Erin said he had just gotten in contact with his younger sister who was adopted with a closed adoption provision and just turned 19. He also has talked to his parents, who are out of prison. His father is a retired Episcopal preacher; his adoptive mother left the Episcopal Church and became a Methodist minister. Erin is now married and has two children.

Hello, I just want to let you know what a wonderful advocate you are for ALL children in Massachusetts. I watched the Wednesday's Child program last night through tears. Having grown up with your program (I am 28 now and thinking of starting a family of my own) after the show I had an interesting conversation with my husband regarding the possibility of adoption. We are both in the field of special education and unfortunately sometimes see first hand children who for various reasons are unwanted. Your motto of every child deserves a chance is the reason I got into special education, I truly believe in that powerful statement. I just want to say thank you for believing in all children!! Keep up the important and wonderful work! Beth Donadoni |
